15 Khartoum Road is a new workplace destination at the heart of Stockland’s MPark precinct in Macquarie Park, Sydney. Located on Wallumattagal Country within one of Australia’s leading life sciences and technology hubs, the project responds to a context historically defined by car-oriented business parks and limited civic amenity. Choi Studio approached the commission as an opportunity to reshape the broader urban experience, asking not only what the building could be, but what it could contribute to Macquarie Park.

Reimagining the office as civic infrastructure, the building stitches together park, streets, retail and workplaces to enrich everyday life in the precinct. A landscape-led approach integrates the architecture with the park by Square One, developed in collaboration with Ngurra and the Dharug Working Group, forming an ecological system that embeds cultural narrative. Sculptural columns lift the form to create a porous ground plane, while inclined façades open the building to light, views and a more generous public realm.

Targeting 6 Star Green Star, 5.5 Star NABERS, Platinum WiredScore and Net Zero in operation, the project demonstrates strong environmental performance. 15 Khartoum Road reframes the commercial building in a non-CBD context as a place for people, landscape and community, supporting a more connected and architecturally ambitious Macquarie Park.
