Taking a moment to appreciate the depth of talent in our team. Last week, Senior Associate Aiden Morris presented his architectural research on regional high streets in NSW at the AIA NSW End of Year Celebration
Aiden was the 2024 winner of the AIA David Lindner Prize for his submission “Could Big-Box Malls Save the High Street? The Placemaking Potential of Shopping Centre Sites in Regional NSW”, which seeks to reframe shopping centres as opportunities for broad urban renewal. Aiden continues to receive industry recognition, having also been shortlisted for the AIA 2026 Dulux Study Tour.

The values and principles within his research are embedded in his work at Choi Studio.
His role as Project Architect on the approved Tweed Mall Master Plan sees a practical application of his expertise on a large-scale placemaking project. He leads other civic projects, which include a flood-resilience strategy for Lismore City Hall, and “The Joinery” with the non-profit Northern Rivers Performing Arts (NORPA). These projects focus on arts, adaptive re-use and urban renewal as a response to flood resilience in regional NSW.
