Choi Studio’s Manly office continues to act as the day-to-day home of the practice in Sydney. Generous in scale and open in character, the studio is more than a workplace. It has become a place that also serves as an event space and gallery for the work of the practice, as well as the individual creative pursuits of our staff.
We are fortunate to have a team of gifted thinkers and makers, and recently Senior Associate Kingsley May and Designers Rowan Le Sueur and Thomas Li were tasked with crafting a habitat for Choi Studio that reflects the invention and ambition of the office. Working with a palette of raw and readily available materials, they developed a series of thoughtful installations that create spaces to sit, gather, chat and work.

The outcome is both practical and quietly expressive, giving form to the culture of the studio through a series of interventions that are at once resourceful, generous and open-ended.
The response has already been warmly received, with recent visitors offering lovely comments on the space and its atmosphere.
It is a testament not only to Kingsley, Rowan and Thomas, but also to the wider team, who were hands-on throughout the studio fit-out. Together, they have shaped an environment that reflects the creativity of the practice and supports the many ways we work, meet and share ideas.
